This is a great relief for livestock farmers in Rajasthan, as they no longer need to wander around searching for an experienced veterinarian for every small or large animal health problem. The state government has launched a WhatsApp helpline number, 9063475027, which provides information and guidance 24/7 through digital means.
1. What is this WhatsApp helpline?
Traditionally, livestock farmers had only two options for seeking advice β either visit a nearby veterinary clinic or talk to someone knowledgeable over the phone. In rural areas, distance, time constraints, transportation problems, and a shortage of veterinarians often prevented them from getting timely advice. Considering these problems, the Animal Husbandry Department has launched a WhatsApp-based Chatbot and Helpdesk.
By simply sending a "Hi" message to this number, farmers can select their problem through an automated menu and, if needed, connect with a live team. This means everything from general information to business plans, finding the nearest veterinary clinic, and emergency guidance is available on a single number.
